Volkswagen Tiguan Sun Shades (2009–2024)

The Volkswagen Tiguan is the thinking family's European SUV — and like most European cars sold here, it was designed for German summers, not Australian ones. Big, upright side glass keeps the cabin airy and bright, and turns it into a greenhouse in January. Our shades are cut to the Tiguan's exact window shapes — standard wheelbase or seven-seat Allspace — and mount magnetically so they sit flush against the frames without anything stuck to the glass.

Why Volkswagen Tiguan owners choose custom shades

Tames the greenhouse effect

The Tiguan's tall glasshouse is great for visibility and brutal in direct sun. Mesh panels cut the solar load so the climate control keeps up on 35-degree days.

Third-row cover for the Allspace

Allspace buyers chose it for the extra row — and that row sits beside long quarter glass no universal shade covers. Our Allspace set includes panels cut for it.

Protects European trim from UV

Replacement European interior trim is not cheap. Blocking UV at the windows protects the dash, door cards and seat fabric that determine the car's condition at resale.

Privacy that suits the car

Flush-fitting mesh panels keep prying eyes off child seats and cargo without the boy-racer look of very dark tint.

Features

Wheelbase-specific cutting

Standard Tiguan and Allspace have different rear doors and quarter glass — each set is patterned to its own body, not shared between them.

Magnetic mounting on steel frames

Magnets hold the panel to the door frame through door slams and highway runs; nothing adheres to the glass.

Open-window friendly

Mounted to the frame rather than the glass, the shades let you crack the windows for parked ventilation — the cabin vents heat while staying shaded.

Breathable mesh, clear view out

Passengers keep their view of the outside; the mesh strips the glare and most of the direct sun.

Fitment for your Volkswagen Tiguan

Choose the set for your body and year: the first-generation Tiguan (2009–2017) or the second-generation Tiguan Allspace (2018–2024). The two generations share nothing in glass shape, so matching your build year matters. Not sure which you have? The Allspace is the long one with the third row — or send us your VIN and we'll confirm.

Covers: Front driver and passenger windows, Rear passenger (second-row) windows, Rear quarter windows (longer on Allspace).

Installation

  1. Sort the panels — fronts, rears and quarters are each shaped differently.
  2. Hold the magnetic edge near the steel frame and let it draw on.
  3. Press the border flush, checking the corners for light gaps.
  4. Lift from a corner to remove; panels store flat under the boot floor.

Volkswagen Tiguan sun shade FAQs

Do you cover the Tiguan Allspace third-row windows?
Yes — the Allspace set is cut for its longer body, including the extended quarter glass beside the third row.
Will one set fit both Tiguan generations?
No — the 2009–2017 and 2018–2024 bodies have completely different glass. Select your year range above and the panels will match.
Do the magnets interfere with the doors or electronics?
No — they're simple permanent magnets gripping the steel frame, the same principle as a fridge magnet. No effect on the car's electrics, sensors or keyless entry.
Can I drive with them fitted?
Rear and quarter shades, yes. Front shades are for use while parked — fit them at the beach or the office to keep the cabin cool, and lift them off before driving.
